Performing ensembles listed below are open to all University students regardless of major. Some, as noted, do require auditions for participation and credit. All ensembles as courses may be repeated for additional credit as per the limitations in individual course descriptions.

音乐会合唱 affords Northwest’s pre-service music teachers an opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience prior to their student teaching experience.
管乐团 Activity
Open to any Northwest student or community member. No audition necessary for participation, students only need to register for the course.

A select instrumental group that specializes in performing the repertoire written for the large and small instrumental combinations, including concert band music. Prerequisite: Audition. May be taken as many as four times for academic credit. Students may only receive credit for 风交响曲 or 风交响曲 Activity in a single semester.

The 管乐团 meets Tuesday evenings in the fall and spring semesters, and enrollment is open to all Northwest students who play a band instrument. 音乐 from a wide variety of time periods and styles are performed, from historically significant works to new band compositions and premiers. This innovative ensemble presents one full band concert and one chamber music concert each semester, and incorporates chamber music opportunities for all members.
管乐团 Activity
Select upper-level music education students will have the opportunity to conduct the 管乐团 in rehearsal and performance. Audition is not required for enrollment in 管乐团.

This course is designed to provide the student with a small ensemble to learn and use the concepts of jazz Improvisation and to learn to perform in a small group setting in order to express themselves musically through the jazz idiom.
